Ni Hao Tucson Browncoats!
For those who do not know me, I'm Shelby McBride and I'm this year's Tucson Coordinator for Can't Stop the Serenity. Since I can't do this alone I am looking for volunteers to help plan, have fun and raise money for our charities!
With that being said we are going to be having a Tucson Shindig on June 19th at 7:00pm, location is TBA in the next few days. So mark your calendars! This is really a great time to get to know our fellow Browncoats and start planning a screening that will really get Tucson talking!
I look forward to seeing you all there!
EDIT: Shindig will be at the Bookmans Grant Community Room (1930 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ, 85719)
All ages are welcome to join us for Browncoat Bowling on Sunday, June 27th at the Mesa Brunswick Zone. Whether you are a pro or prefer to bowl with the bumpers, everyone is welcome and guaranteed a good time! A great way to get out of the heat and spend some time with your fellow Browncoats. :) ...
I had the privilege of going to her concert in Gilbert last year and it was a blast. Now there's an opportunity for you to hear her perform live too. Her DIY national tour brings her to Arizona next week! ...
Did you miss us at Phoenix Comicon? Then you probably missed the big news! Our Phoenix 2010 Can't Stop the Serenity event is shaping up to be a doozy! With the generosity and support of Bookmans Entertainment Exchange and MADCAP Theaters, and with the help of the Arizona Corsairs and the Honorable Society of Phoenix Anachrofuturists, the Arizona Browncoats proudly present a charity double-feature matinee and musical event we're calling Can't Stop the
Serenity Space Pirates.
Join us for back-to-back screenings of Serenity, The Ice Pirates, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog with musical performances by Thunder Stump and Unwoman. It's all happening Sunday, September 19th (Talk Like a Pirate Day!) beginning at noon at MADCAP Theaters in Tempe. Ticket prices and purchase information is coming soon. All proceeds raised by the Arizona Browncoats will go to Equality Now, while the Arizona Corsairs will be donating their proceeds to the Phoenix Children's Hospital. So, mark your calendars and be prepared to get your geek on for this fun-filled day of laughs, camaraderie, and even a few "arrrs" here and there.
